BlackDoor Ventures Earns Certifications, Adds Services

BOWIE, Md. – BlackDoor Ventures, Inc., is pleased to announce its recent recognition by the Maryland Department of Transportation’s Office of Minority Business Enterprise.

Effective July 21, 2021, the company has met eligibility standards for the Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) Program, the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program, the Small Business Enterprise (SBE) Program and/or the Airport Concessions Disadvantage Business Enterprise Program (ACDBE).

“We are excited to be part of Maryland’s program that connects small businesses to greater economic opportunities,” said BlackDoor president Vanessa Snyder. “We support its vision to create an open and accessible culture for small businesses throughout the state, including those owned by minorities, women and veterans.”

Founded in 2008, BlackDoor is certified in the capacities of Public Relations Agencies (NAICS Code 541820), Document Preparation Services (561410), Educational Support Services (611710), and Independent Artists, Writers, and Performers (711510; specifically Ghost Writers, Journalists, News Correspondents, Newspaper Columnists, Technical Writers).

Only certified firms are eligible to fulfill minority participation goals on contracts issued by the State of Maryland. BlackDoor is now able to work with prime contractors and consultants seeking participation from minority/disadvantaged subcontractors.

“I want to thank Alvin Aalim Turner and his team at Diversity Compliance Group for assisting us throughout the certification process, which was prolonged due to Covid-19,” said BlackDoor vice president Deron Snyder. “I recommend their services for anyone who wants to form a business or have their business certified.”

Deron looks forward to BlackDoor working through its emerging educational consulting division, led by Vanessa. Designed to help K-12 educators and leaders, these services will be vital in students’ recovery from learning gaps caused by the global pandemic.

“She’ll be ‘Dr. Vanessa Snyder’ by the end of this year when she finishes her dissertation,” Deron said with a laugh. “Our ed consulting arm is going to have a huge impact on students, especially those who typically are furthest from opportunity.”
